Trouble Shooting When Your Compliance Training Isn't Effective - Interactive Services

Working in a diversified environment where the many employees brought together have differing ways of learning, and comprehension; it may also take differing ways of educating your organization’s compliance training, and recognizing when and where that training is ineffective. Trouble shooting and checking on potential weak spots is critical to ensure the effectiveness and success of your training.

Everyone On Board

Each individual within the enterprise needs to be on board and agree that compliance is one of the top priorities for the organization’s success. Attitudes and views regarding the necessity of training, including cost, or time should not be in a debate.

Awareness

In your management team, determine which areas of the company are most at risk for compliance to raise awareness? These can be pinpointed through internal audits, and regular reports. Since management has a responsibility to ensure their employees know what expectations are required in their jobs and performance, they could do simple compliance interviews to gain staff’s input for possible weakness.

Employee Responsibility

Anxieties have a way of sneaking up on employees when it comes to reporting a problem or owning up to a mistake they’ve made. Determine what avenues an employee can take to state it, and what the consequences may be. A company would benefit from having more than one way to report an incident and reward integrity with a boost of additional training, especially for first-time offenses. Doing so alleviates the hesitation of reporting, and increases the success of the program.
