LRN was founded 25 years ago to “help people around the world do the right thing” and we’ve manifested that mission in helping organizations, leaders, and people from all walks of life elevate individual and organizational behaviors, to move from required to inspired—from what we can do, to what we should do, inspiring what we call “principled performance.”
LRN joined the United Nations Global Compact 10 years ago in recognition that LRN and the UN were aligned in our belief that principled behavior is the only long-term, sustainable, and responsible strategy for leading, operating, and governing today.
The United Nations Global Compact is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative. It calls on companies to align strategies and operations with universal principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and take actions that advance societal goals.
We have partnered with the organization in a variety of ways over those years in support of the 10 Principles and in support of the Sustainable Development Goals. 2019 was no exception. From innovating and bringing to market new solutions, education, tools, and services that support organizational commitments to the 10 Principles, to the way we try to operate our own business, LRN is forging more elevated ways of operating, leading, and governing, and putting a commitment to humanity and values at the center of businesses’ operations around the globe. We were emboldened to commit, more specifically in 2019, to support Sustainable Development Goal 16 on Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
To read more about our commitment to the United Nations Global Compact and the progress made in 2019, we invite you to read LRN’s 2019 Communication on Progress. A requirement of membership in the Global Compact, the Communication on Progress is frequently the most visible expression of a participant's commitment to the Global Compact and its principles.
